All applications are subject to funds available, therefore unfortunately we cannot guarantee that applications will be successful.
Any successful applications are subject to the availability of stock and our dedicated supplier’s delivery and installation schedule.
Applicants must be referred by a local professional (social worker, GP, health visitor, refuge worker, etc.).
Applicants in family households (minimum one adult and one child under 18 years) will be considered by Bromley Brighter Beginnings.
Applicants in adult only households should apply to Bromley Relief in Need charity instead, link here.
Applications can be made for one or more of the following items for delivery (and installation where appropriate) into the client’s home: fridge, fridge freezer, cooker (gas or electric), microwave, slow cooker, kettle.
All appliances are new and will be covered by warranties.
We are unable to issue cash grants.
We require that a full benefit check has been completed for the client before the application is made (e.g. entitledto.co.uk or turn2us.orguk).
Applicants must be living in London Borough of Bromley and you will be asked how long they have been in their present accommodation.
Clients who have been in their accommodation for less than 6 weeks should, in the first instance, be referred to the Bromley Council Welfare Fund here. For these clients our application form will ask for confirmation of application to, and the response from, the Welfare Fund.
We require the person making the referral, or a colleague from the same organisation, to have visited the client’s household and made a thorough assessment of their need. If, due to Covid, you are not able to visit, we will need to ask for more information and this may slow the request process.
A maximum of two items can be ordered on each application. If you are successful with the first two items yet require more items, please complete an additional application.
Referrers will be asked for the dimensions and a photo of the space for the appliance.
Our preferred supplier will deliver and install the appliance, in accordance with present Covid-19 protocols.
Covid-19: households receiving appliances must be Covid free. We are able to delay the delivery and installation of goods until after a household’s period of self-isolation has ended.
Referral agencies may be contacted by our Coordinator to confirm request details and contact information for delivery/installation.
